Fundraiser for Esmee’s Warriors

Last Saturday, as the Mayor of Kimberley, I had the great pleasure of attending a fundraising event at Kimberley Institute Cricket Club to raise funds in support of children being treated for cancer on wards E39 and E40 in QMC. The event was fantastic, with an evening of live music, a drag artist and a Freddie Mercury tribute as well as a raffle, and the Cricket Club pavilion was absolutely packed. Esmee is a little girl who is being treated for a brain tumour in QMC and her family have long-standing connections with Kimberley, both through the cricket club and through Dorothy Fawcett, who was twice Chair of Kimberley Town Council.

This is a great cause, raising money to help children in similar circumstances to Esmee, so if you can make a contribution, please use this Go Fund Me link.

Neil Doherty, Mayor of Kimberley with Suzie Mozley, event organiser at Fundraiser for Esmee's Warriors

Thank you.

  1. Please note that my grandmother was never known by Dot. She was always Dorothy. If you would be so kind as to amend your post I will be very grateful

  2. Further to my previous comment, my grandmother Dorothy Fawcett was mayoress of Kimberley twice and not chair of the town council as stated. She also bought the chains of office twice ( the first being stolen in a robbery)

    1. Hi Susie
Apologies, these have now both been amended.
      Kind regards
      Julie
      Town Clerk
