Funeral Arrangements and Minute’s Silence

The ceremonial royal funeral for HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will be held at St George’s Chapel, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, at 3pm on Saturday, 17 April. The event will be televised.

At 3pm, a minute’s silence will be held nationwide, in memory of the Duke. The country is currently in a period of national mourning, which will end on the day of the funeral.


In Nottinghamshire

In Nottinghamshire, an Evensong Including Prayers and Devotion to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will be held at Southwell Minster on Friday afternoon.

This will be live streamed on the Southwell Minster YouTube page

This service is by invitation-only due to COVID-19 restrictions and will include representatives of organisations throughout Nottinghamshire, and individuals who have a connection with the Duke himself, or one of the organisations he supported.
