Kimberley Town Council (KTC)

Part time – 30 hours
Monday to Friday but additional evening and weekend work will be required.
£12.60 – £14.05 per hour (£24k – £26,000 p.a. pro rata) depending on experience.
Leading to £29,000 p.a. pro rata £15.80 ph when fully trained
The Council seeks an enthusiastic individual to assist the Town Clerk.
This is a vital role in our small team of staff, so we are keen to appoint an individual capable of working on their own initiative and as part of an enthusiastic team.
The successful candidate will be well presented, efficient, organised and self-motivated. Computer skills will be required, so a working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Some knowledge of dealing with finances would be advantageous although full training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills are an essential part of this role, as you will be dealing with other staff, councillors and the general public on a daily basis.
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn is also key, as this role could lead to a more advanced position within the town council. You will be working with, and be guided by, the existing Assistant Town Clerk to prepare meeting agendas, call meetings, taking and publishing minutes, and to help organise local council events and other ad hoc duties as required.
Although this role is office based, a car owner is preferred as occasional local travel is required.
