Covid-Memorial Tree at The Chapel on the Hill

Earlier today, there was a dedication ceremony for a mountain ash tree planted in the Memorial Garden at the Chapel on the Hill in Kimberley in memory of those who died as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rev. Barbara Holbrook led a short ceremony at which the Chair of Kimberley Town Council, Trevor Rood and the Mayor of Broxtowe, David Grindell unveiled a plaque to remember those lost to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The attendees also laid stones as a memorial to loved ones around the base of the tree.

Thank you to those who attended in memory of lost family and friends.

The Memorial Garden is a peaceful place where we can sit and remember people we’ve lost. There is a bucket of white cobbles there so any residents who want to leave a memorial to any family members or friends they have lost can do so.
